Neither shall ye touch it??      Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast..

What was the commandments of the Most High?

💡 The word touch was never mentioned by The Most High

Genesis 2:16-17

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

📝Genesis 3:2-3

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, 🌟 👉 neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

🌷Psalms 12:6

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

  1. Yes, indeed, Eve’s understanding of God’s command regarding the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil had already been twisted. In the Genesis account, God only gives the command, directly, to Adam. And so, I think there is a hidden truth here…. on the importance of hearing God’s will for us from God Himself. Unfortunately, instead of seeking out her God to inquire if what the Serpent told her was true, Eve makes up her own mind on the spot…. which is likely a foreshadowing of the inadequacy of human mediated ordinances.
